Rebecca Kemfort is a native of Lexington, SC, and began her nursing career at Midlands Technical College, receiving an Associate of Science degree in 2004 and Associate in Nursing in 2008. Rebecca got her Master degree in Nursing Education from Charleston Southern University in 2012, and she is a doctoral candidate at the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) in Education for Instruction Leadership for Nurse Educators (EdD), anticipating conferral in December 2023.
Rebecca worked as a pediatric nurse at Prisma Children’s Hospital, Lexington Medical Center, and Palmetto Pediatrics. She previously taught at Midlands Technical College from 2013-2021 and was the Nursing Department Chair from 2020-2021. She has teaching experience with college skills, nursing fundamentals, pediatrics, gerontology, and pharmacology. Rebecca was a faculty advisor for the SC Student Nurse Association (SNA) from 2018-2021, and served on the SC Nursing Education Simulation Alliance Education Committee (SCNESA) from 2018-2020. She has been an Item Writer for the National League of Nursing’s Nursing Care of the Child exam (NACE).
Rebecca is happy to be a part of the nursing program at CIU and to be able to integrate her faith into her love of nursing education.
