Dr. Thomas worked with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health (2004-2016) as Director of Children and Family Services. Prior to working with the SC Department of Mental Health, Dr. Thomas was employed with the South Carolina Department of Social Services/Managed Treatment Services (1989-2004) as a Program Director.  She has over 30 years of experience in the Human Services Field.  She worked several years as an Adjunct Professor at South Carolina State University.

Dr. Thomas has been named employee of the year both with SC Department of Mental Health and SC Department of Social Services/Managed Treatment Services. She was recognized for outstanding service, commitment and significant contributions for the success of programs for children, adolescents and their families in South Carolina.

Dr. Thomas is a native of Bennettsville, SC. She resides in Orangeburg, SC.  She is the founder of Lighthouse of Deliverance Outreach Ministries.  She enjoys reading, spending time with family, traveling, and mentoring underprivileged youth.
