Amidst a pandemic, racial and political tension and disunity in our country, a Columbia International University freshman is heading a new initiative called “Right Words @ CIU,” an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to communicate written messages of appreciation, assurance and encouragement to one another.
In anticipation of a new year, Columbia International University Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Andre Rogers asked CIU President Dr. Mark Smith to “go deeper” with some of CIU’s African American leaders at an early January leadership retreat.
Beach Loveland’s dreams for a coffee café in his hometown of Irmo, South Carolina first began to take shape in the classrooms of Columbia International University. In November, that dream became reality with the café’s grand opening.
