Men's Soccer Travels from Columbia to Colombia

CIU Men's Soccer Team

The CIU men’s soccer team has travelled from South Carolina to South America as they minister in Medellin, Colombia. Coach Bill Brindley is leading his team on the weeklong trip along with CIU Intercultural Studies professor Dr. Victor Cuartas who is originally from Colombia.

The purpose of the trip is to use soccer as a tool to share God’s love, minister to the people of Medellin, and create an atmosphere draws the team together in unity toward God.

Ministry opportunities include:

  • Using soccer to connect with children and youth in underprivileged neighborhoods and sharing God’s love with them.
  • Sharing their Christian testimonies with visiting teams they compete against.
  • Assisting in established ministry projects in Medellin.

The team asks for prayer that God would do an amazing work in and through them. Updates on the trip may be found at the Rams Athletics website.
