It’s huge accomplishment for such a young team.

The Columbia International University men’s golf team is headed to the 2018 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Golf National Championship.

The team was selected as one of a dozen squads following their strong showing at the NCCAA South Region Championship. Leading the way for CIU at the national championship will be Jake Montgomery who placed fifth in the South Region Championship and second place at the NAIA AAC Fall Tournament.

The national championship takes place Oct. 22-24 at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida.

The Rams are coached by Matt Decker who is extremely pleased with his team’s efforts.

“Because the core of our team is made up of underclassmen, I’m extremely proud of how hard they have worked and the improvements each player has made,” Decker said.  

The team consists of three juniors and four freshmen.
