Evangelist RV Brown, an influential behind the scenes figure in football met with CIU Business Administration and Sport Management majors and challenged them in their walk with God.

Brown, a South Carolina native, is a former chaplain for the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the founder of Outreach to America’s Youth, Inc. (O.T.A.Y). He is also a former teacher and high school coach, and played college football for South Carolina State University.

Brown spoke on CIU’s core value of the Victorious Christian Life, and addressed CIU’s motto: “To Know Him and to Make Him Known.”

Brown said that to live victoriously you must first drop to your knees and pray, and if you want to make Christ known, you must first know Him in your own life.

“A Christian without a testimony has no power,” Brown told the students. “You must walk through trial and tribulation to understand what those around you are going through. If you want victory in your life, if you want to walk with God, take God at His word and trust Him.”

Brown is also the author of three books: “Breaking the Chain,” “Step Up To The Plate, Dad!” and his newest, “Commission to PRAY for a Nation.”
