The Curriculum and Ministry Resource Department (CMRD)

The CMRD is a division of the library and is an indispensable resource center

for all of our students, faculty/staff, as well as the community at large. Whether

looking for teaching materials for a ministry or working on a project for a class

assignment, our patrons find the CMRD their “go-to place” for a wide variety of

resources which help to make their projects and ministries “come alive.”

The CMRD contains new formats and modern technologies as well as classic

and traditional teaching materials. The collection of over 10,000 items includes

PowerPoint lessons, DVDs, international and Bible costumes, pictures/posters,

flash cards, maps and charts, international curios, flags, props, teaching boards,

puppets, recreation equipment and much, much more.

The CMRD Production Center includes a sizable project area which consists

of laminators and Ellison die-cutting machines, book binding machines, a

Cricut machine, a copier with scanning capabilities and a colored printer. Paper,

cardstock, poster board and numerous other supplies are available for purchase.

Computer Labs

Student Accounts:

A user ID (or login name) and password are assigned to every registered student.

The user ID is usually composed of the student’s first name.last name. Initial

passwords will be assigned randomly to students and should be changed by the

student to help maintain security. Account usernames and passwords are not to

be shared with others. Sharing login information may result in a loss of account

privileges.

Lab Hours:

The G. Allen Fleece Library, Memorial, Founders and Schuster lab stations provide

access to student computing resources. The hours of the main computer lab in the

Library can vary; hours are posted on the IT Student & Guest page of

my.ciu.edu .

Campus student labs are closed during chapel hours. In the event access needs

to be available outside of the normal library hours due to specific academic needs,

instructors may request an access time change from the IT Front Desk located in

the library.

Other Technical Information:

Assistance is available on our website at

my.ciu.edu/itsupport

or at the Information

Technology Support Center at (803) 807-5176 or

supportITO@ciu.edu .

Lab Etiquette and Equipment Usage:

Food and uncovered drinks ARE NOT permitted in student computing areas.

The equipment is expensive, and we want to practice good stewardship with the

resources. Access to computers is primarily open to CIU students and faculty/

staff. Temporary access is available for guests on a weekly basis through the IT

Front Desk located in the library. Quiet is expected in student computing lab areas.
