2017-2018 │COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCES

DIGITAL, MEDIA, & CINEMA MAJOR

For other Communication Department majors, see Communication and Media Arts.

The Communication Department exists to educate students in the development of skills that will enable them to appropriately

and creatively utilize the latest technology to communicate Christ creatively. To be a competent communicator one must

know the

Word that God gave us

and the

world God

created.

The common core of the Digital Media & Cinema program provides a foundation in essential disciplines that will contribute

to the student’s ability to communicate effectively in today’s world.

The Digital Media & Cinema major is designed to allow students to follow their interests and passions while developing their

skills and talents. It trains the student as a producer of digital media productions in the understanding of cinematography,

video editing, motion graphics, audio recording, and script writing. Students gain valuable experience in both production

and postproduction settings. They will work behind the scenes to shoot, light, edit short films, music videos, short

documentaries, and cinematic features. Experience in musical scores, sound tracks, dialogue, and foley effects are also

are part of the academic experience.

See Appendix A for graduation requirements.
