In accordance with the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of

1989, CIU has adopted and implemented a Drug-Free Campus Substance Abuse

Policy. Information will be distributed to your campus box in the fall.

Food Services and Dining Room

In addition to regular meal service, additional services include the following.

Sick trays are available with the student’s ID card.

Take-out meals are available for work or school-related conflicts. 24-hour

notice is requested. Be sure to sign up for any specific requests since

meals can be tailored to your liking.

Early or late meals are provided due to schedule conflicts. Advance notice

is required.

Special diet needs can be accommodated. We ask that an outline of your

dietary needs be provided by your doctor. Requests should be made

through the Academic Success Center.

The Ram Shack – a snack bar located in the lower level of the student

center. Hours of operation provide additional opportunities to purchase

food after Dining Hall hours. Pizza, wings, and smoothies are popular

items. Other snacks and drinks are available as well as Rams attire so

you can show your school spirit.

Ram Bucks – may be used to purchase food in the Ram Shack. Students

on the meal plan automatically receive an allotment of Ram Bucks based

on their meal plan selection. Special plans with bonus Ram Bucks

are available to commuter students. Contact the Food Service staff for

more information.

Policies:

All meal plan students need their student ID to enter the Dining Hall.

Anyone without an ID card will be required to pay or be turned away.

Rates are posted for visitors and non-meal plan students. Snacking

between meals must be approved by the Food Services director.

Food is not to be taken from the cafeteria (except a piece of fruit or an ice

cream cone).

Dishware taken out of the cafeteria should be returned immediately

following the meal.

Reserved dining rooms are available for meetings or events. Reservations should

be requested via

my.ciu.edu ,

by clicking on Cafeteria in the left column and Dining

Room Request Form. Following the submission of the request, an email will be

sent to approve the request or inform that the dining room is already reserved for

that time. The Food Service director’s door is always open for your comments and

suggestions.
