Financial Aid Options
As a CIU student, you may qualify for a variety of financial assistance to pursue your educational goals as you prepare for careers that build on your passion for Christian service, whether in the marketplace or ministry. That assistance can include a combination of public and private scholarships and grants, loans, as well as student employment opportunities on- and off-campus.
CIU offers 10 different institutional scholarships ranging from $1,000 up to full tuition. They’re awarded based on a variety of criteria, including academic achievement and test scores.
Federal aid includes Pell Grants and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants as well as the Federal Work-Study Program and subsidized loan programs. Grants are based primarily on financial need. Loans can range from $5,500 for a first-year undergraduate up to $20,500 for graduate students.
CIU students from South Carolina may be eligible for state-funded grants and scholarships that range from $2,800 to $7,500 per year.
CIU has partnered with several Christian agencies to offer a tuition reduction to employees and their dependents for any course, with the exception of doctoral-level courses. Students who receive a partnership discount are not eligible for additional institutional aid from CIU.
