CIU Scholarships & Grants

Undergraduate Scholarships & Grants

Generous friends and alumni have been supporting CIU students for years with a variety of grants and scholarships to our biblical university. CIU scholarships and grants are only awarded in fall and spring semesters.

The Financial Aid Office will work with each student individually to determine the best overall financial package.

To qualify for CIU aid, you must be enrolled full time for the fall and spring semesters. Summer courses do not count towards full-time status.

To help you with financial planning for college, the Net Price Calculator is available as a guide to provide an estimate of aid eligibility.

  • To qualify for Federal Pell Grant and federal loans, students must be degree-seeking and taking courses that are required for their degree.

  • You are eligible for any grant you qualify for, but you are only eligible for one merit-based scholarship.

  • In most cases CIU grants and scholarships will be applied to the cost of tuition and fees after all federal and state gift aid is first applied. Therefore, any remaining balance is the responsibility of the student and their family. Direct loans, Parent PLUS loans and outside scholarships are available to help cover these costs. To research outside sources, contact your high school guidance counselor, church, community organizations, library and other resources.

  • Any employee or dependent with one of our partner agencies is eligible for a tuition reduction for any course at any time of the year, with the exception of doctoral-level courses. Students receiving a partnership discount are not eligible for additional institutional aid from CIU. Check out our partnerships page for eligible organizations.
