ology especially relating to and serving as the
foundation for the sanctification and Christian
growth of the believer. Areas studied will include

(Soteriology), the doctrine of the Holy Spirit
(Pneumatology) and the doctrine of church

tion of the doctrine of the afterlife, including a dis-
cussion of the views of world religions and several
“Christian” cults, with particular emphasis being
given to the biblical data on heaven and hell.
Special attention will be devoted to the evangeli-
cal doctrine of the afterlife, to recently proposed
alternatives to the orthodox views and to implica-
tions for your missiological responsibilities.

decision-making and evaluate them against the
teaching of Scripture. The goal of the course is to
prepare you to deal with ethical issues which arise
in Christian ministry, whether in the local church
or in an intercultural setting. Issues examined will
include capital punishment, just war theory, abor-
tion, stem cell research, cloning, euthanasia and
physician-assisted killing.

Leadership: Biblical and intercultural

You will engage in an examination of the role and
function of leadership in a cross-cultural ministry
context. This course aims at formulating a biblical
understanding of leadership which includes sensi-
tivity to cultural differences while maintaining the
counter-cultural nature of the gospel with the
resulting challenges relating to differing world-
views. Special attention will be given to how
Westerners handle conflict compared to peoples
of the two-thirds world and how Scripture speaks
to both contexts.
