BUS 3300 Managerial Accounting ..................(3)

Spring Semester

In this course you will focus on the development

and the use of accounting information in the man-

ager’s decision-making process.

Prerequisite:

BUS 2200 or permission of instructor.

BUS 3700 Business Communications ..............(3)

Fall Semester

In this course you will explore effective communi-

cation strategies for a leader or manager that pro-

mote positive communication inside and outside

an organization or business. You will especially

focus on audience analysis, so that appropriate

vehicles of communication can be used in inter-

national settings that require heightened analysis

in order to overcome cultural nuances and mis-

communication.

BUS 3800 International Business Practices....(3)

Spring Semester

You will explore the international dimensions of

business, including globalization, developing and

implementing strategies for international settings,

cross-cultural human resource management, gov-

ernmental relationships and unique ethical consid-

erations in international settings.

BUS 3910 Practicum in Business ..................(1-3)

Fall and Spring Semesters

This practicum is a limited learning experience

within a business or organization for you to

actively participate in work-related tasks within a

business culture. This experience requires a mini-

mum of 50 clock hours on the job under supervi-

sion for each credit received. Practicum units may

be taken incrementally or as a three credit block.

BUS 3950 Faculty Directed Study (FDS) in

This is an independent study available to juniors

and seniors by special arrangement with instruc-

tor. This course requires approval by the program

director and your academic advisor.

BUS 4200 Marketing and Finance ..................(3)

Spring Semester

This course is an introduction to marketing princi-

ples and pricing associated with corporate

finance. You will explore principles of direct mar-

keting, public relations and branding, as well as

the implications for nonprofit and non-govern-

mental organizations.

BUS 4400 Practical Skill Development in

Business ............................................(1)

Upon Request

This course is designed to offer ministry skills

experience within the discipline, providing oppor-

tunity for upperclassmen to gain competency and

confidence within related vocations. Experiential

learning requirements are defined by your pro-

gram and assessed by the program faculty. A

minimum of 50 clock hours of direct experience is

required for a unit of credit and advisor approval

is required. Repeatable.

BUS 4410 Legal Enviroments of Business ....(1)

Spring Semester, Even Years

This course is an introduction to the legal and reg-

ulatory process in which business decisions

should be made and documented. You will

explore the application of legal constraints and

regulatory law related to corporate directors and

operational managers.

BUS 4500 Information Systems and

Technologies ....................................(3)

Fall Semester, Even Years

This course explores the role of business tools,

such as software technologies, in managing infor-

mation systems and quantitative research data

mining acquired via various technologies. You will

explore the tension between effectiveness and

efficiency with tools or services that can be pur-

chased.

Prerequisite

: CPT 2110 or permission of

the instructor.

BUS 4700 Operations Mangement ..................(3)

Fall Semester, Odd Years

In this course you will explore the management of

operation variables and their part in the overall

strategy of a business or Non Governmental

Organization (NGO). Your primary focus will be

managing the operation of a service-oriented

organization, including such topics as business

process engineering, allocation of resources, cost

control, quality control and standards and proce-

dures development.
