BUS 4710 Strategic Planning, Policy Making

In this course you will explore the interactions of
corporate visioning, planning, implementing and
evaluating within a framework of applied social
science. Areas you will focus on include: commu-
nications, culture, motivation, perception, opera-
tional formations and adaptation, risk
management, clarity of mission, change process-
es and learning theory.

This internship is an exposure to organizational
management and operations in an international or
cross-cultural setting in North America. This expe-
rience requires at least eight weeks during a sum-
mer or other designated time in which you work
at least 20 clock hours per week under supervi-
sion. Internship assignments must be approved
by the program director.
Prerequisite:
Successful
completion of two business practica or permis-
sion of program director.
CHRISTIAN SERVICE LEARNING (CSL)
CSL 0101 Christian Service Learning
2nd Semester, First Year
Having identified a local church during your first
semester experience, you will now faithfully attend
that church and volunteer at least 20 clock hours
of service within that ministry or a ministry desig-
nated by the church. This service must be docu-
mented and be approved by the church/ministry
and a record submitted to the CSL office.
No
credit will be given, but completion of the serv-
ice hours is a graduation requirement.
Lack of
faithfulness in attending or participating in a local
church is an issue related to Christian character;
failure to demonstrate faithfulness will be
addressed by the Student Life Office.

CSL 0201 Christian Service Learning
1st Semester, 2nd Year

Spring Semester, Even Years
In this course you will explore the dynamics of
engaging the inseparable connection between
human relationships and human communication.
You will focus on the roles that interpersonal con-
nections play in casual discussions, as well as the
fundamental communication concepts of today.
Small group communication, interpersonal
dynamics, conflict resolution, verbal and nonver-
bal communication and the use of technology in
communication in everyday life will be topics of
the course.
